When I started writing PDF sewing patterns, the name Dog Under My Desk just seemed appropriate. My Yorkies really do sleep under my desk all day (and night) while I design, endlessly prototype, and photograph my bag patterns.
My pattern business has gradually evolved over the past two years into my current line of nine patterns and countless tutorials, with more of each on the way! I’m active online and easy to reach if you have any questions about bag making, interfacing, or sewing in general! I keep very late hours (those of you who follow me on Twitter are nodding…) but I do this full time right now, so please don’t hesitate to contact me. If you ever have questions about a pattern or a tutorial, please send me an email or tweet me or find me on Facebook!
I’m an analytical kind of person and I’m kind of a techie, which translates well into the sewing world. I like the technical side of sewing – accurate seams, math, figuring out construction, taking a gazillion pictures and creating PDF patterns and tutorials. All of those pictures and obsessively detailed instructions help to make your project a success, whether you are still learning how to sew or have years of experience. And I promise, zippers are NOT SCARY!
I would also like to take the opportunity to thank all of you. Between the amazing online sewing community and my fangirl friends, I have friends all over the world. Thanks to them, my customers and my blog readers, especially those who take the time to leave comments and send emails, I have never felt more supported and loved. Thank you. <3
